NLM Celebrates: Democracy 101

October 1, 2022 | 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

Thomas Jefferson once wrote that “wherever the people are well informed they can be trusted with their own government.” In the run up to the midterm elections, NLM teams with the Committee of Seventy and the League of Women Voters for a day dedicated to taking action through the power of voting. Take part in voting myth-busting workshops and preview your local ballot with help from a range of non-partisan representatives. In conjunction with our exhibition truth*, NLM staff will share tools to navigate misinformation and political spin.

These workshops are free and open to all. Registration is for tracking capacity, but we encourage you to purchase museum admission to visit our exhibitions as well!

Committee of Seventy is a nonpartisan civic leadership organization that advances effective government through citizen engagement and public policy advocacy.

League of Women Voters  is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. We empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels.
