NLM Celebrates: PARK(ing) Day

September 15, 2023 | 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Each year, PARK(ing) Day invites cities around the country to rethink what public places can be by transforming parking spaces into miniature parks. This year, NLM is partnering with PHILADELPHIA250 to create a pop-up experience designed to inspire reflection and spark conversation. Join us to explore the contemporary meaning of liberty through thought-provoking questions and collaborative art as we take our latest exhibition Project Liberty: A Design Challenge to the streets. See you outside!

PARK(ing) Day was founded by Rebar, a San Francisco art and design studio, in 2005 to raise awareness of the need for green spaces in urban environments. Philadelphia celebrated PARK(ing) Day for the first time in 2008 with over 25 installations for relaxing, cycling, creating art, education, and socializing.
