Healthcare Heroes
The National Liberty Museum is proud to host its Healthcare Heroes Awards, presented by Teva Pharmaceuticals. This international awards program recognizes inspirational heroes in healthcare research and treatment whose accomplishments have profoundly benefited their patients, their field, and the global community.
This program presents an award to an outstanding honoree in each of the four categories:
Community Hero Award – COVID
This Community Hero Award highlights all heroes whose efforts, particularly in COVID-19 units and underserved communities, have profoundly impacted the health and well-being of others on a local or global scale. This includes, but is not limited to, nurses, doctors, pharmacists, hospital workers, medical students, and R&D employees working tirelessly to save lives and lead us towards a cure during this time of crisis.
Community Hero Award – Equity and Healthcare Access
A healthcare hero dedicated to providing access to healthcare and medicines for all communities. Can be an individual or organization.
Hero researcher or practitioner in the field of Crohn’s Disease
The hero’s pioneering work has propelled forward Crohn’s disease research and patient health and treatment.
Healthcare Hero of Israel
A hero of Israel whose life’s work has resulted in breakthroughs in healthcare research, technology, and treatment.

Healthcare Hero in the Field of Crohn’s Disease
Dr. Siddharth Singh, MD
Dr. Singh is a board-certified gastroenterologist who diagnoses and treats diseases of the digestive system. This includes conditions or symptoms that affect the esophagus, stomach, bowels, liver and gallbladder. Dr. Singh’s expertise is in caring for patients with inflammatory bowel diseases, including Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and microscopic colitis. His research interests include patient-centered comparative effectiveness of strategies for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases and other gastrointestinal conditions. He is also interested in harnessing big data in electronic health records for improving clinical care and population health.
